Tank Container Specification
Tank container are designed to transport liquids or gases, usually being loaded up to 80% of their
capacity as a minimum and not more then 95% as a maximum load factor to prevent surging of the
liquids during transport and to allow thermal expansion of the product.
Tank container are basically surrounded by a 20ft GP (General Purpose) Container frame allowing
transportation on ships, railway waggons and trucks; tank container can be heated or cooled,
the insulation guarantees a temperature controled and evironmental safe handling.
Tank container are loaded through the filling port on the top and usually discharged through the
bottom outlet; a pressure relief valve for thermal expansion is part of the saftey devices as well
as a liquid level indicator and a pressure gauge.
